Rev your engines and buckle up for the adrenaline-fueled SMASH! 2023 Mario Kart 8 Grand Prix! Secure your spot and embark on the Elimination Rounds, where racers will battle it out until only the top 8 remain standing. The ultimate challenge awaits as these elite racers face off in a heart-pounding 16-race Grand Prix extravaganza! Will you conquer the tracks, dodge every shell, and claim victory as the undisputed Mario Kart champion? It’s time to showcase your driving skills, unleash your power-ups, and prove that you have what it takes to cross the finish line in triumph!

ENTRY & SCHEDULE

Registrations will open online on the 25th of June 2023. A link to register will be posted on our social media @smashcon.

There are 32 racer slots for registration. Any registrations after the first 32 will be reserve drivers for the first four Elimination Rounds. Racing will commence on Sunday at 10:30am in 6 x 20 minute elimination rounds. Top 8 will compete at 1:00pm, with commentary and stream shown on the Darling Square Stage.

TOURNAMENT RULES

All registered racers go through a tournament-style elimination, each round will include 4 races. Top 4 of each elimination round will proceed to the next elimination until we have only 8 racers left.

The top 8 will compete in a final 16 race Grand Prix. Highest scoring racer after 16 races will win the GP. In the event of a draw, racers will compete in a Sudden Death race: 200cc Baby Park + Bullet Bill Only.

REQUIREMENTS

While we can supply racers with the necessary equipment to compete, we will also allow racers to bring their own Nintendo Switch console and their official Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. If you are bringing your own console, you will be required to compete with a non-modded console. If you intend to use your own controller, please ensure it is the official Nintendo Pro Controller. We reserve the right to inspect any self-supplied hardware.
