Whether you\u2019re a hobbyist or a professional artist, the SMASH! Artist Market is a great place to exhibit, sell, and showcase your talent and creativity.<\/p>\n<div class=\"sk-block info l-center\">    <i class=\"i-info-circle\"><!--hack--><\/i>  <\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your interest in being part of the Artist Market for SMASH! 2023! <\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Based on feedback from artists and attendees of SMASH! from previous years, we will be continuing with a <b>juried system<\/b> for the SMASH! 2023 Artist Market. All submitted applications will be evaluated with final judgments based on a set criteria that is fair for all. As such, early submission of an application <b>will not guarantee<\/b> a table spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0;\">We believe in being open about the criteria of our juried selection process. The most important factors in the evaluation of applications include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Adherence<\/b> to <a href=\"https:\/\/smashwordpress.blob.core.windows.net\/main-site-prod\/SMASH-Artist-TC-2023.pdf\">SMASH! Artist Market Rules and Guidelines<\/a>, with removal of any incomplete or duplicate applications.<\/li>\n<li><b>Diversity <\/b>of product offerings, merchandise, and mediums. We believe a variety of media within the population of artists will benefit both attendees and artists.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li><b>Professionalism.<\/b> Your application should exhibit a level of care that assures the jurors that you will bring quality content to SMASH!<\/li>\n<li><b>Relevance to SMASH! <\/b>as a family-friendly anime and manga convention. Rather than relevance to our theme for the year, it is regarding relevance to our target audience.<\/li>\n<li><b>Quality of portfolio.<\/b> This does not refer to having a unique artistic style but rather the clarity and completedness of your portfolio. Jurors are looking to see if your art meets the minimum technical skill for selling in a professional arena.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications for the SMASH! 2023 Artist Market will be open from <b>15th March 2023 to 5:00pm Tuesday 4th April 2023 (AEST)<\/b>. It is the applicant&#8217;s responsibility to take time in filling out the form and ensure it is submitted in the most <b>complete and error-free<\/b> manner possible. This includes (but is not limited to) incomplete applications, misspelled emails, but more than anything a large number of qualified applicants. Unfortunately, table spots are limited and no decision is ever personal. Staff members evaluating Artist Market applications will recuse themselves for any applications of family or friends with close ties to ensure the fairest decisions and best experience.<\/p>\n<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"sk-accordion\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"sk-accordion-title\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<span>If accepted, what should I expect?<\/span>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<i class=\"i-chevron-down\"><!-- icon --><\/i>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"sk-accordion-content\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><p><strong>Before the convention:<\/strong><br \/>\nMake sure to pay for your table and passes before the payment deadline to secure your table! <\/p>\n<p><strong>On the Friday before the convention:<\/strong><br \/>\nArtists can arrive on Friday to begin setting up their table. Artists can also begin setting up their table on Saturday morning before the event if they wish. All artists should be wearing their own supplied High Visibility vests during both set up and pack up. <\/p>\n<p>For enquiries or assistance on the day please contact a member of the SMASH! Sales and Partnership team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the Sunday Night of the convention:<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter the event ends at 5pm on Sunday all artists should immediately begin packing up their tables and exiting the venue. Please bear in mind only individuals with Artist Passes will be permitted to remain in the venue during pack-up hours. Artists can also apply to host their own workshop or panel discussion in our panel rooms. Anyone selling, displaying, or using AI art may be asked to leave SMASH! convention immediately and risks barring from future conventions.<\/p>\n<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"sk-accordion\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"sk-accordion-title\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<span>Do I require insurance to exhibit at SMASH! Whether you decide to populate your online portfolio with fan art or original art is completely up to you, as long as it is relevant to SMASH!. Do not have one portfolio link showcasing the artworks of multiple artists.<\/p>\n<p>If there are multiple artists sharing one table, please ensure portfolio links and social media links are available for all artists sharing the table. These should demonstrate your best work and should be indicative of what you want to display or sell at your table.
